On June 24, 1961, he married Rose Marie Fahsl at St. Frederick Church (now Nativity of the Lord) in Cudahy. Out of college, his first job was as Athletic Director of the Boys Club in Milwaukee. Eventually, he served as an Internal Revenue agent for 30 years, retiring in 1993. Joe was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving him are his wife, two daughters, Lea (Walter) Kreuser, Karen (Cary) LaHucik, one son, James (Lina) Wegerbauer, five grandsons, a sister, Rosemary Bruno and a brother, Dr. Leo (Mary Lou) Wegerbauer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
