Ferne B. Rogers, 93, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Manor Care of Kenosha, with her family at her side. Born in La Crosse, WI, on July 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Olga (Johnson) Kolinski. Ferne spent most of her life in La Crosse, attending local school and also the W.W.T.I. College of Business and Bookkeeping. She left La Crosse and attended Nursing School in Hayword, CA. On November 3, 1945, she married Eugene A. Rogers in La Crosse; he preceded her in death on January 2, 1968. She worked for the R.S.V.P. in La Crosse and after her husband’s death she returned to nursing for 11 more years until September of 1994 when she moved to Kenosha. Ferne was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse and the Anna Cronnon Circle of the church; she also taught Sunday school and was a lifelong member of the 32nd Red Arrow Division Club. She loved to travel, seeing most of the United States. She also loved to read and crochet. She had made many crocheted articles for her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Richard Wayne (Debra) Rogers of Kenosha; daughter, Carol Jean (Richard) Rhodes of Humble, TX; ten grandchildren, Sally Rogers, Brad Rogers, Tracey Rogers, Melanie Rogers, Richard Rogers Jr., Monica Rogers, Rhonda Rhodes, Kelly Rhodes Elias, Misty Rhodes and Dusti Dawn (Kyle Noll) Rhodes; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Richard (Carol) Rogers and Ralph Rogers.
