David Paul Gibson, 72, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014, at his residence with his family at his side. Born in Antigo, WI, on March 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Wallace and Lillian (Deisinger) Gibson. He and his family moved to Waukegan when he was a child and in 1969 he came to Kenosha to make to make his home. On April 14, 1990, he married Betty Carolyn Webb. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2014. Paul was a machine operator for many years at Johns Manville, until his retirement in the 1990’s. Paul was an avid car buff and he loved working on cars. He enjoyed bow and rifle hunting, fishing, dancing, music, socializing with friends, and playing darts. He will be remembered as a most loving and nurturing father and grandfather. Surviving are his five children, Denise (Todd) Morris of Kanas City, MO, Donna (John) Dioszegi of Kenosha, Larry Gibson of Kenosha, Trudy Mason of Algoma, WI, and Mary Jane (Jeffrey) Chopp of Salem, WI; his eleven grandchildren, Timothy (Kim), Giselle, Justin, Joshua, Lillian, Christopher, Heather, Robert, Danielle (Zach), Colin, and Brenna; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Bennett of Mississippi; and his first wife, Karen Gibson of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Brody; four sisters, Ruth, Ginny, Faye and Maye; and five brothers, Robert, Wilbur, Orville, Wayne and Lawrence. The family would also like to extend their gratitude for the caring nurses, especially Dana and May; as well as his wonderful friend, Hattie Jones; and the wonderful staff and Kindred North. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13th, at Proko Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
