Yolanda DeSantis, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2014, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. She was born in Maltigiano, Ascoli Piceno, Italy, on November 2, 1926, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Clelia (DeLuca) Travaglini. On September 28, 1950, she married Argo DeSantis at Madonna Delle Grazie Church in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Argo came to the U.S. in 1956, and Yolanda and their son, Anthony “Tony” followed in 1958. Yolanda worked for twenty years at Midtown Bar and Restaurant and then at LeBlanc. She retired in 1989. Yolanda was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and a member of the Lady’s Society. She enjoyed gardening, her roses, cooking, but most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Yolanda in survived by her brother in Italy, Paolo (Maria) Travaglini; daughter-in-law, Carrie DeSantis; two granddaughters, Sandy (Jody) Davis and Ann DeSantis; and two step grandchildren, Sarah Thompson and Brad (Lindsay) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Argo DeSantis; her son, Anthony “Tony” DeSantis; and two brothers, Remo and Luigi “Gino” Travaglini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 11th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or Our Lady of Mt.
