Jessica Anne Potts

1982 ∼ 2014

Jessica Anne Potts
Jessica A. Potts of Kenosha lost her battle against brain cancer on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Brookside Care Center. She was a gentle warrior for four years. Jessica was born July 7, 1982, in Kenosha to James (Judy) Smith and Cynthia (Roberto) Delgadillo. She was an independent person, but cherished her family and friends. She attended Gateway Technical College with the ambition of counseling others struggling against cancer. Jessica donated her brain to the Medical College of Wisconsin, hoping that she could help in some small way to affect a cure and promote understanding of this disease. Jessica was previously a manager at AutoZone and enjoyed working on cars. She loved music, Hispanic culture, dancing, and her friends and family. She participated in many cancer walks and fundraisers to find a cure. Surviving are her father James and stepmother Judy; mother, Cynthia; her dad Roberto; and brother, Daniel (Jessica) Smith of Clermont, FL. She is also survived by her children, an adoptee daughter Christina, and two sons, Tyler Smith-Powers and Nevis Potts. In addition, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Florence Wesselius, of Kenosha; her special cousin, Deonn Paul of Kenosha; her sister-friends Jamie Hutchings and Tina Tomek; and her devoted friend, Mike Gordon. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends whose lives were forever altered by knowing her. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Arthur Wesselius, and paternal grandparents Sylvester and Rita Smith. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 27th, at 6:30 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Jessica’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
