Donna M. Carney, 86, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kenosha on October 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Kosecki) Guttormsen. She attended St. Mark’s Grade School, Lincoln Jr. High School and Kenosha High School. On July 17, 1948, she married Donald B. Carney at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. For ten years she worked at Snap-on Corporation, retiring in 1986. A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Donna enjoyed gardening, was noted for baking wonderful apple pies, and loved to play golf and cards. She was a soloist for many weddings and sang in the St. Thomas Aquinas Choir for 25 years. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Donald of Kenosha; a daughter, Colleen of Kohler, WI; two sons, Kelly (Janis) Carney of Golden, CO, and Steven (Nancy) Carney of Kenosha; and her six grandchildren, Shannon, Mary, Emma, Kelley, Casey and Logan. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
