Donald W. Zolper, 78, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, January 4th, at Lakeview Specialty Hospital and Rehab in Waterford, WI. Born in Aurora, IL, on April 25, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Maude (Warren) Zolper. He was educated in the schools of Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School. Don served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1953 until 1957 and then in the Reserves until 1961. On April 23, 1960, he married Phyllis Reuter at St. Joseph’s Church in Aurora. Don was employed with K-Mart for 23 years, retiring in 1997. He then worked part-time at The Factory Card Outlet. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Football games and Discover Wisconsin. He also enjoyed reading books about history, taking long rides in the country side with his wife, and playing Yahtzee (he always won). Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Phyllis of Kenosha; four children, MaryDona (Dominic Sr.) Fabiano, Michael (Debbie) Zolper, Timothy Zolper and Julie (Craig Basler) Zolper, all of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Jennifer Zolper, Ryan Zolper, Sara Fabiano, Samantha Fabiano and Dominic Fabiano, Jr; three great-grandchildren, Evelyn Fabiano, Liem Fabiano and Mikayla Escobar-Zolper; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Julia Zolper, and eight brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
