Dale G. Westermeyer, 73, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, at his residence with his loving family surrounding him. He was born in Barry, MN on June 13, 1940, the son of the late Henry and Ella (Ewert) Westermeyer. On April 28, 1962, he married Joan Van Overmeiren in Superior, WI. Dale was employed at S.C. Johnson and Sons, Waxdale plant for 26 years, until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He also loved to talk about the Packers and politics with friends and family. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Joan; his sons, Alan (Margaret) and Chris (Kathy); and his four grandchildren, Brittnee, Rachael, Lauren and Ryan. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Aurora Cancer Center, Dr. Haider and the staff Anita, Donna, Lynda, Patti, Leigh for their special care of Dale and a special thanks to Jamie Cairo for the care of Dale. It was comforting to have a friend and professional caring for Dale. A memorial service will be held for Dale on Saturday, January 4th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held privately at St. James Cemetery.
