James Orr Glover, 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. He was born in Kenosha July 7, 1941, the son of the late Karl and Evelyn (Orr) Glover. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended Roosevelt, Lincoln Jr. High, Mary D. Bradford High School and the Automation Institute. On April 20, 1968, he married Judith Slagoske in Kenosha at Trinity Lutheran Church. Jim served in France with the United States Army from 1964 until 1966. He was formerly employed by Oster Mfg., Walker Mfg. and Snap-On Tools until his retirement in 2005. He was an active, lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity Lodge-Free Masons, Trinity Sr. League, St. Mary’s Lutheran Friendly Center, and the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin, where he was proud to have given almost 10 gallons. He was also a volunteer at the Shalom Center. Surviving are his wife, Judith Glover of Kenosha; a daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen E. and Daniel J. Gibbons of DeKalb, IL; two step-granddaughters, Melissa and Natalie Gibbons; sister-in-law, Donna Jensen of Kenosha; brother-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Slagoske of Washington State; and friend. Janee Townsend (aka- T.G.K.). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nephews and niece, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Russell; sister, Phyllis Jobick; his in-laws, Andrew “Hank” and Mollie Slagoske; three nephews, Kirke Glover, Glen Slagoske and David Slagoske; two brothers-in-law, Willy O. Jensen and John Jobick; and a sister-in-law, Delores Glover. A memorial service will be held for Jim on Wednesday, December 11th, at Trinity Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held privately at a later date. I knew you 42 years Jim, since way back in 1972 at Walkers, then again at Snap-on. We played a lot of sheepshead and I am going to sincerely miss you. It is hard to believe that you are gone. I guess all I can say is shuffle the cards, the rest of us will be coming along eventually. Rest in Peace.
