Yolanda Paredes, 76, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013, at her residence. Born in Laredo, TX, on August 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Gumercindo Ramos and Guadalupe Cruz Torres. She moved to Kenosha in 1961. She married Ramon Paredes, Jr. in Laredo, TX. He preceded her in death in January of 2010. Yolanda was employed with the Kenosha Unified School District for over 40 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Hector (Berta) Paredes of Kenosha, Olga (Juan) Rodriguez of Kenosha, Maria (Lee) Novak of Kenosha, Ramon Paredes III of San Antonio, TX, Becca Powers of Des Moines, IA, Billy Scott Prescott of Elkhorn, WI, and John (Ginger) Grulich, Sr. of Kenosha; a brother; a sister; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several siblings. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be private.
