Darren Keith Cox, 54, passed away unexpectedly at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee on Friday, October 4, 2013. Darren’s life began on March 14, 1959. He was an Air Force brat and grew up all over the country, with his fondest childhood memories in California. He came to Lake Zurich, IL, in his high schools years where he met the love of his life. Darren and Helen were married on May 27, 1989, in Palatine, IL. They moved to Kenosha and began their life together. Darren was blessed with three wonderful children, that he was extremely proud of, Kyle, Nicole and Joseph. His most recent twinkle in his eye was his granddaughter, Natallia. Darren was all about family and would move mountains for any of the special people in his life. Darren loved the outdoors, hunting and sports; a die hard Bear and Cubby Fan. Most of all waiting for a championship win. Darren enjoyed the simple pleasure of life, spending time with the ones he loved. Always a story with his witty sense of humor, advising with intense patience, wisdom and love. Darren is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Kyle, Nicole and Joseph; his granddaughter, Natallia; his parents, Vernon and Shirley Cox; brothers, Kevin (Lynn) Cox and Daymon Cox; his mother-in-law, Kathy Vlahos; brother-in-law, Nick (Eleni) Vlahos; special cousin, Helen; and nieces, godson, cousins and many dear friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the friends and staff of Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, for their support and outstanding care the provided. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 610 S. Dundee Avenue, Barrington, IL 60010, on Friday, October 11th, at 12:00 Noon. Following the graveside services, a celebration of Darren’s life will be held at his sister and brother-in-law’s home, 20961 Swansway, Deer Park, IL.
