Gerald W. “Jerry” Cooper, Jr., 55, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, at his residence. Born in Kenosha on May 20, 1958, he was the son of Gerald and LaMargaret “Sue” (Gardner) Cooper, Sr. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. Jerry was employed as a car salesman at area dealerships. He was also the owner of Juniors Sports Card Outlet in Kenosha. Additionally, he worked as a counselor for troubled teenage boys in Libertyville, IL, and in earlier years, he was a cook at various area restaurants, learning how to cook at Rodney’s Steakhouse. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church and Club Breakaway. He enjoyed watching most sports and was a big Packer fan, of which he also was a shareholder in the team as well. Survivors include his mother, Sue of Pleasant Prairie; two brothers, Michael and Matthew, both of Kenosha; a sister, Peggy (Michael) Jeffries of Pleasant Prairie; and a nephew, Logan Cooper. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Christopher in infancy. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 7th, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
