Evelyn E. Benton, 85, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October, 1, 2013 at her residence with her family and friends at her side.Born in Nettleton, MS on April 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Jury and Elizabeth (Patterson) Pennington. In 1957 she moved from Columbus, MS to Kenosha to make her home.On April 27, 1946 in Amory, MS she married Johnny Emmett Benton. He preceded her in death March 31, 1981.Evelyn was an avid bridge player she also enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching sports and especially taking care of her family and friends.Surviving are her daughter; Sandi Mecozzi of Kenosha; four granddaughters; Mary Beth (Jason) Gyulay of Milwaukee; Becky (Chip) Sanders of Iberia, MO; Janet (Shawn) Sullivan of Kaukauna, WI; Laura (Michael) Froh of Kenosha; nine great grandchildren; two sisters; Bessie and Hazel, also many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny, her son Jeffrey,two brothers and three sisters.A Memorial Service will be held for Evelyn on Friday, October 4th at 3:00 P.M. at Proko Funeral Home.
