Josephine Ann Wendorf

Josephine A. Wendorf, 99, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2013, at Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Kenosha on February 28, 1914, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Karpowicz) Sawicki. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On October 24, 1936, she married Walter Wendorf in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1973. She worked for Coopers and then for over 30 years with Ace Hardware until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and dancing. Survivors include her son, Dr. Kenneth (Carol) Wendorf of Grand Cayman Island; a sister Mary Berry of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Kristopher (Christi), Kurt (Jennifer), Scott, Randy and Daniel; and a great-grandchild, Kayden. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger; two brothers, Edward and Joseph; and a sister, Jeanette. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, at Proko Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
