Anna Hrycyniak, 84, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI. Born in Chicago, IL, on November 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie (Horodecki) Haluzak. Anna was educated in the schools of Chicago and moved to Kenosha in 1996. On May 7, 1960, she married Russell J. Hrycyniak at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Chicago. She was employed with Time Inc. in Chicago for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago. Three year residents of Harmony House with her husband Russell, she enjoyed playing Wii bowling and bingo with her friends and loved watching cooking shows on television. Survivors include her husband, Russell of Kenosha; two children, Fr. Stephen (Sue) Hrycyniak and Christine (John) Rettmueller, both of Kenosha; and six grandchildren, Joseph Hrycyniak, Julie (Ryan) Moriarty, Jennifer Rettmueller, Michael Hrycyniak, Michelle Rettmueller and Elizabeth Hrycyniak. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Robert Tadevich. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17th, at Proko Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Memorial Trisagion at 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 18th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove, IL.
