Elvera M Perry

1919 ∼ 2013

Elvera M. Perry went to heaven on Friday, September 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kenosha on January 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Camillo and Pia (Capone) Migliano. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and graduate of Kenosha High School. On June 19, 1937, she married Joseph Perry in Kenosha; he preceded her in death on April 3, 1982. Elvera and Joseph owned and operated Jo-El Catering business for many years, after retirement she worked at Villa D’Carlo Restaurant and later was a cook at Holy Rosary School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and she was active with the yearly festival and in church activities. She was also a longtime member of the Italian American Club and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, where she also served on the board. She loved cooking, spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Holiday gatherings with family were always very important to her. Surviving are her five loving children, Joan (Fred) Thorn of Reno, NV, Janet Cogger of Kenosha, Joseph (Gail) Perry of Palm Desert, CA, James (Barbara) Perry of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Joyce "JJ" O’Connell of Kenosha; her 20 loving grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one loving brother, Arnold (Betty) Migliano of Kenosha; one brother-in-law, William Perry of Torrence, CA; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Otto and Joe Migliano; two sisters, Elsie Morretti and Irene Kraning; and her son-in-law, John O’Connell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 10th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
