Charles R. Jensen, 82, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2013, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee. Charles was born on November 30, 1930, in Kenosha, the son of the late Martin and Mildred (Johnson) Jensen. He was educated in local schools. In 1951 he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and was assigned to the USS Uvalde, a cargo vessel in operation in the Korean War. After returning from active duty in 1953, he worked at his father’s business, the Sunshine Dairy, located in Kenosha until it closed. He then worked at American Motors Corporation as a tool grinder, retiring from there in the year 2000 after 40 years of work. On August 31, 1960, he married Doris Muelver at Grace Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL. In his free time Charles enjoyed sailboat cruises, bowling, skiing, swimming, train history and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was an active member of the VFW Post 1865. Chuck will be missed by his wife, Doris of Kenosha; step daughter, Sandra (Frank) Greene of Racine; two step grandchildren, Melissa (Randahl) Ritchie of Sacramento, CA. and Hilliard F. Greene of Kenosha; two sisters, Lorraine (Glenn) Harris of Kenosha and Doris (Irv) King of Overland Park, KS; and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy (Theresa) Jensen.
