Gertrude Kathryn LeMay

1922 ∼ 2013

Gertrude Kathryn “Trudie” LeMay, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at her residence. Born on November 28, 1922, in White Bear Lake, MN, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Dora (Goesch) Biddinger. In 1927 she moved from Southerland, IA, to Kenosha. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. On October 4, 1947, she married Paul J. LeMay in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2000. Gertrude was proud to be a homemaker and served part-time as church secretary at First Baptist Church of Kenosha. She was a church choir member there for over 30 years, a Sunday School Teacher, and also was financial secretary at the church for several years. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family, bowling (one time she held the city record), watching the Packers, golf and playing the Sunday night Domino game. Gertrude will be remembered for her unconditional love of family and friends. Gertrude will be deeply missed by her daughter, Susan and son-in-law, John Maddux; two grandchildren, Barbara (Troy) Holm and Timothy Blinten; and three great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah Holm and Liam Blinten, all of Kenosha. She is further survived by one niece, six nephews and their families. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister, Dorothy Merritt. We would like to thank Dr. Timothy Hubbard for many years of care and kindness received from him, and also the many special people at Hospice Alliance, especially Kathy Jackson and Pat Leckman. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Kenosha, 3700-47th Avenue, on Friday, August 9th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Baptist Church and Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Gertrude’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
