Gena Venci, 82, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fulton, MS, on January 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Elizabeth (Pierce) Wheeler. She was educated in the schools of Fulton and came to Kenosha as an adult. On November 13, 1968, she married Anthony Venci in Kenosha. Gena was employed with Nash/American Motors until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and UAW Local 72. She enjoyed gardening, loved quilting and her weekly get-togethers with her friends. Gena was also known for her lasagna and pecan pies. Survivors include her husband, Anthony of Kenosha; a son, Roger (Jeri) Parham of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Jennifer Daniel and Robyn Stratton, both of Louisville, KY; five great-grandchildren, Crystal, Hailey, Aimee, Dean and Grace; a sister, Faye Barber of Fulton, MS; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Hagen of Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Lee, Clellon and CB; and four sisters, Roselle Clayton, Eva Green, Lucille McCuen and Etheleen Seddler. The family would like to thank Ginny Perna for all of her compassion and care she gave Gena. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, from the Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
