Betty F. Thomas

1940 ∼ 2013

Betty F. Thomas
Betty Faye Thomas, 73, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Fulton, MS, on January 31, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Will and Norma (Jarrell) Beasley. In 1958 she moved to Kenosha. On September 27, 1958, she married Jimmie R. Thomas in Kenosha. Betty was employed at Le Blanc for over 21 years until her retirement, and she was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching Packer games with her husband, as well as her regular breakfast club meetings with the ladies. Betty was very fond of flowers, fashion, gardening, and sitting around the table drinking coffee with friends and family. But Betty’s greatest enjoyment always came from spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren. Traveling down south to Mississippi or to the Smoky Mountains brought her great enjoyment, and if family members were with her she would nearly burst with joy. She hosted her famous Christmas party for over 50 years, where her home-baked Southern desserts became legendary... competing for the sweetness of her disposition. She was always there for any sort of person, regardless of their association - a true friend to anyone at any time. Betty is survived by her husband, Jimmie of Kenosha; two children, Jeffrey (Mindy) Thomas of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Pamela (Langdon) Alger of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Taylor and Elliott Thomas and Olivia and Langdon Alger; one brother, Charles “Buck” (Martha) Beasley of Gatlinburg, TN; and one sister, Truma Oswalt of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Hollis, Clin, Travis and Jake; and one sister, Marie Hopkins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4th, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Monday, August 5th, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Betty’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Dear Jimmie, Jeff, Pam and families. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you. Betty was a sweetheart and gentle woman. I will always remember how she carried herself with such pride and dignity. She was a classy lady with a heart of gold. Soft spoken but always ready to give anyone the time of day. We thought of her as a loving individual, filled with love for her family and friends. May God sustain you through this most difficult time. We also thought the world of her and so did many others. May she rest in peace. Love Charmaine and Rob.
