Lena Carlini, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 20, 1921, in Catanzara, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary A. (Baia) Magno. She came to the United States at the age of 2 and was raised in Kenosha and attended local Kenosha schools. On May 7, 1949, she married Joseph Carlini at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Margaret (Magno) Fowler. Lena was first employed by Snap-On Corporation. After leaving Snap-On, she was employed for over 30 years as Special Checker for American Motors/Chrysler Corp. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. During retirement she especially enjoyed spending time sewing and ceramics at Kenosha Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Surviving are her two children, Kathleen (Leonard) Thompson of Dousman, WI, and Joseph M. (Barbara) Carlini of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Heather (Bryan) Young, Michael (fiance Aubre Andrus) Thompson, and Mark (special friend Kara Holsinger) Thompson; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Anthony and Samuel. She is further survived by a sister, Sara (John) Greco; and brothers, Napoleon (Marlene) Magno and Dominic (Pearl) Magno. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
