Thaddeus H Gielas
Thaddeus A. Gielas, 82, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wolkow, Poland, on August 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Pauline Gielas Glowacki and Anthony Gielas. In 1947 he arrived to America from Poland. He served 2 years in the US Army in the Korean War. On August 31, 1952, he married Renee Malinowski at Five Holy Martyrs Church in Chicago, IL. They had 60 wonderful years together and five children, Joyce Gielas, Jan (Cary) Ferraro, Ted Gielas, Mike A. Gielas, all of Kenosha, and Julie (Andy) Schweitzer of Browns Valley, CA; four grandchildren, Jenna (Mike) Fisher, Mitch (Nina) Ferraro, and Heather and Heidi Schweitzer; and three great-grandchildren, Landon and Laynee Fisher and Rome Ferraro. He is survived by a sister, Stella Stys of Chandler, AZ; two nieces, Diane Stys of Chandler, AZ, and Nancy Gielas of Thunder Bay, Canada; and two nephews, Casey Stys of Chandler, AZ, and Michael A. Gielas of Gimli Manitoba, Canada. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike E. Gielas of Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was a designer for Guardian Container of Elkhorn, WI and retired in 1996. He enjoyed gardening, nature, being a craftsman, and cheering on his Packers and Hawks. But most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family at his cabin in the north woods. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 8th, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum with full military honors.
