William C. Richter, Jr., 84, of Kenosha, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus after a brief illness. He was born on June 2, 1929, in Kenosha; the son of the late William C. and Stella (Carl) Richter, Sr. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and served in the Wisconsin National Guard. On December 2, 1950, he married Joyce F. Lemorand in Kenosha. He had been employed by Sheridan Road Garage, Schaeffer Pontiac, American Motors Engineering Division and lastly Snap-on Tools Corp until his retirement on July 29, 1994. William’s favorite hobbies were woodworking, auto repair, fishing and relaxing at his cabin in the north woods. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Robert L. (Melody) Richter of Kenosha, Robin L. (Robert) Welter of Salem, and Scott J. (Christine) Richter of Burlington and Brent W. Richter of Kenosha; his two brothers, Arthur Richter of Westminster, CA, and Charles (Marge) Richter of Kenosha; a sister, Shirley (Eugene) Blasi of Pleasant Prairie; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Elton W. Richter, Sr., and a sister, Virginia (Leroy) Leach. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd, at Proko Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
