Dolores M. Alfredson, a life-long resident of Kenosha, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Parkside Manor Assisted Living. She was 89. Born Dolores May Bonell on December 21, 1923, she was a daughter of Ralph and Alice Bonell of Kenosha who predeceased her. She graduated with high honors from Mary D. Bradford High School. She was married to the late Allen H. Johnston who died on September 9, 1962, and to the late Carl A. Alfredson who died on July 5, 1982. She was also predeceased by a son, Carl R. Alfredson on July 3, 2003, an infant daughter, Audra Majbritt Alfredson, a sister, Elaine Wilson, and a brother, Dr. Blair Bonell. Surviving are a son, Gerald A. (Elaine) Johnston of Prior Lake, MN, and three daughters, Lynn C. (Paul) Splitek of Madison, WI, the Rev. Janet L. (Dr. Paul) Fries of Kintnersville, PA, and Elaine M. (Mark) Schuch of Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Alfredson was employed for over twenty years in the Kenosha Unified School District No. 1, where she held positions as a secretary in the Special Education Department and in the Educational Support Center before retiring in 1989. She also served for many years as secretary for Cerebral Palsy of Kenosha County. She had a wide range of interests, enjoyed summers with her family in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, fishing with her husband, Carl, swimming, gardening, reading and traveling with friends. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
