Frank J. Mesner, 72, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2013, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus with his loved ones by his side. Born on October 29, 1940, in Washburn, WI, he was the son of the late John and Loretta (Fizell) Mesner. He came to Kenosha to make his home as a young man. Frank married Joan DiCello, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, on September 12, 1970; Joan was the love of his life and Frank was the love of Joan’s life. He had been in the United States Marines serving in Viet Nam and Japan. He retired as a Draftsman for Eaton Dynamatic after more than 27 years. Frank was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and Mt. Carmel Choir. He was a basketball coach at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for many years. Frank enjoyed gardening and in his younger years he liked to fish. He had a love for all sports, especially watching the Green Bay Packers. Surviving are the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Joan; sisters and brother, Ann (Bill) Jantsch of Peosta, IA, Mary Jane (Gerry) Deering of Rochester, MN, Stanley (Jean) Mesner of Spooner, WI, Nancy Sveda of Ashland, WI, and Susan (Tom) Smith of Minnesota; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Sutton; sister-in-law, Annette DiCello; and brother-in-law, Jim Sveda. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. with full military honors following. Interment at St. George Cemetery will be private.
