Walter Charles Langer, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on October 8, 1922, he was the son of the late Frederick and Helen (Wellman) Langer. He served as an Engineering Test Pilot for the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He entered the service in January 7, 1944, and was honorably discharged October 20, 1945. On May 7, 1944, he married June Fina at Dale Mabry Air Field in Tallahassee, FL. Walter was employed as a glazier with C.J. Huber Glass in Kenosha until his retirement in 1985. He was a former member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where he was very active on many committees and was currently a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and collecting stamps. Walter is survived by his loving wife, June of Kenosha; a son, Richard (Sally) Langer of Ocala, FL; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dean Langer; a grandson, Richard Jr.; a sister, Evelyn Iorns; and two brothers, Harold and Robert Langer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1st, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
