Dorothy Anderson, 70, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Grande Prairie Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on January 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Metallo) Volpentesta and was educated in local schools. For over 20 years she was employed by Cherry Electric. Dorothy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing cards, baking, and all arts and crafts. Surviving are her two daughters, Tina (Nigel) Edward of Racine and Deanna Anderson of Milwaukee; two sisters, Helen "Joann" (Richard) Anderson of San Diego, CA, and Connie Rose (Jim) Colemann of Washington State; and her four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Volpentesta; a great-grandson, Giovanni Osborne; and her aunt and uncle, Angeline and Harold Benn. The family would like to extend a special thank you the all the doctors, nurses and staff of Aurora Medical Center and Grande Prairie Rehabilitation Center for all of the special care and support they gave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 18th, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 9005-22nd Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. She was a loving a given mom. I remember her always giving her daughters things even though they were okay. I remember her always telling My Ms.Deanna to fix her shirts or you will see her doing it for her. I remember her telling her daughters how to cook something...but wanted it done the way she wanted it. She loved her grandchildren and spoke of them all the time. She was a proud momma. I will miss her trying to give me things every time I seen her like I was her child. She will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother will always be a part of you , in you memories, in your daily life and always in your heart. She will continue to watch over you as she always has but will now be pain free and in heaven. Let me know if you need anything Deanna. Your always in my heart!!
