Genevieve E Walton

1931 ∼ 2013

Genevieve “Gen” Walton, 82, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, with her family by her side. She was born in Montreal, WI, on January 3, 1931, to the late John and Elizabeth (Pleau) Trombi. Gen later moved to Kenosha, where she resided for the past 52 years. In the early 1950’s she married Gene Humphrey, they later divorced. On July 18, 1964, she married Roscoe “Bud” Walton. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1989, just short of their 25th wedding anniversary. She was employed by My’s restaurant, Waukegan Yacht Club and the Kenosha Moose Club combining for over 50+ years. They were all jobs she enjoyed because of the interaction with customers and friends. Gen was an active member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church and the Kenosha Women of the Moose, Chapter 155, where she obtained the prestigious position of “College of Regent”. She loved and cherished her family and friends. She especially loved get-together’s, needless to say she cherished the holidays the most. She loved to have everyone over to her house to entertain, she loved to prepare special meals and make sure everyone had a good time. Besides, bowling, pinochle, Thursday bingo and traveling, she especially loved to spend hours talking on the phone with her brothers and sisters. Gen was an extremely good hearted person, and will greatly be missed by everyone who had the good fortune of meeting her. Surviving Gen are two children, Julie (Brent) Nudi and Ken (Diane) Walton both of Kenosha; a brother, John Trombi of Tigerton, WI; a sister, Beatrice Weaver of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Christina (Olsen) Holland, Stephanie (Olsen) Brown, Steven Schaefer, and Christopher Walton; and two great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Kailynne. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arnold and Raymond Tromni; and a sister, Jeanette “Nettie” Williams. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28th, at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, 2001-80th Street, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Gen’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
