I met Donna in Glendale exactly 38 years ago today, Feb 15th. I specifically remember the date because I wrote a short story (entitled ‘February 15th’) about our chance meeting at the Mall, and subsequently attending a movie together. I was a Vet Assistant for George B. Shaw, DVM, in Tujunga, CA. Her love at that time was for her horses, Sundance & Vic. I lost track of Donna sometime around 1978. For some reason, perhaps (unconsciously) because tonight is Feb 15, I decided after all these years to do an Internet search for Donna, and I am stunned by the news of her passing! I have some photos of you, Erin, in your Easter best at the park near your house, as well as some of your mother’s poems which she shared with me. I would be happy to send them to you if you wish.John Hayesoops.john@gmail.com

I had the pleasure of knowing Donna through dog obedience/rally trials. I own a poodle and Donna was also a "poodle Mom." She was always upbeat, pleasant and encouraging to others at the trials. She had a sweet nature. I am grateful that I had the pleasure of knowing Donna. My sympathy goes out to her family. Sincerely, Susan Tubin

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27Praying for your strength, and that comfort and peace will come soon.

Donna was one of the most compassionate ladies and fellow handler I have ever met. Even when she was sick herself, she offered to foster one of our rescues who was in need of a temporary home. Her didication to the breed and her talent as a handler will remain in my memory of special people I have met.

I am so sorry for your loss...I have nothing but wonderful memories of Donna. She was always so positive and kind and always so willing to help others in any way. The stars are brighter for her presence, but the earth is a little darker...

She shared her love with all of us - even us unworthy creatures on two legs. We will miss her very much and our hearts go out to her family.

I met Donna and Happy in obedience class. She was a wonderful person and trainer, and it was apparent how much she loved and enjoyed her dogs. I am sorry that she's no longer here with us but happy that she is in a better place.
