Claudine L. Janis, 91, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Barbersville, KY, on November 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Mamie La Rue (Terrill) Dugger. She was educated in the schools of Barbersville and moved to Kenosha from Detroit, MI, in 1954. On August 1, 1948, she married George S. Janis in Detroit, MI. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1988. Claudine was a homemaker. Survivors include her seven children, George R. Janis of Kenosha, Gary (Lori) Janis of Bristol, Vicki (Fred) Schultz of Kenosha, Denise (Ken) Krahn of Paris, Dean (Michelle) Janis of Bristol, VA, Marilyn Janis of Kenosha, and C. Elaine (Scott) Irish of Salem; a brother, Marion (Mary Lou) Dugger of Bristol, VA; three sisters, Shirley (Curtis) Hopkins of Lexington, KY, Donna Mauny of Frankfurt, KY, and Sharon (Jerry) Hyatt of Bristol, VA; fifteen grandchildren, Anthony Janis, Stephanie (Mark) Butenhoff, Nicholas Janis, Sue Ann (Terrence) Boyd, Peggy (Raymond Pipton) Schultz, Lisa (Fernanda) Arivola, Jamie (Chris) Eibl, Ryan Krahn, Audra (Shyen) Harnden, Liz Harter, Mariah Harter, Cassandra Harter, Joshua Harter, Jeremy Janis, and Nicholas Wilson; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Dugger, and a sister, Melba Proske. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
