Mary Theresa DiCello

1912 ∼ 2012

Mary T. DiCello, 99, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Clare Bridge of Kenosha with her family at her side. Born in Kenosha on December 13, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William and Zennonia Maslowski. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. On November 25, 1939, she married Gabriel DiCello at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1970. From 1929 until1939 she worked for Coopers and from 1954 until 1968 Mary taught cake decorating at G.T.I. She later was a cook at Carthage College from 1970 until her retirement in 1990. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, The Italian American Ladies Auxiliary, Kenosha Senior Citizens, and Matt Herman’s Vanity Fair. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and cake decorating. Mary was very talented when it came to craft projects. Surviving are a son, Anthony T. (Diana) DiCello of Austin, TX; a daughter, Cassandra (Henry) Turco of Lindenhurst, IL; three grandchildren, Rick (Jill) Turco, Rica (Bruce) Kilroy and Todd (Belinda Usleman) DiCello; and five great-grandchildren, Alexandra Turco, Jack Henry Turco, Isabella Turco, Madison Kilroy and Chloe Kilroy. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Edward; three sisters, Frances Douglas, Genevieve Klobuchar and Ann Sandberg; and a daughter, Mary at birth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 10th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at Our Lady of Mt. My Grandma Anna A Johnson and Mary met at Cooper's and became Great Friends..Ican remember as a kid at Christmas the wonderful popcorn ball's Mary would make...she was a very crafty a talented lady I will surely miss her . May your love for her..and one another wrap you and comfort you like the many afghan's Mary made for her many friends and family..I have the one Mary made for my grandma and when I use it I think of both of them and smile!!! My the lord bless and keep you in your hour of need.....
