Robert Francis Koschalk
Robert F. “Moose” Koschalk, 84, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at St. Joseph Home and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Born in Waukegan, IL, on April 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Francis and Iva (Patterson) Koschalk. He was educated in the schools of Waukegan, coming to Kenosha in 1979 to make his home. He served in the United States Army in Japan during World War II. On January 6, 2010, he married Carol Ziegelmeier in Las Vegas, NV. He was a packaging engineer for Abbott Laboratories for 36 years, retiring in 1990. A member of the Zion Moose Lodge #667 and American Legion, he was an avid Stamp Collector, a member of the Chicago Philatelic Society and the German Philatelic Society. Robert won numerous awards for stamp collections, nationally and internationally. He was an expert appraiser in Milwaukee and Chicago areas. Besides stamps he collected coins and other collectibles. Surviving are his wife Carol of Kenosha; his five children; Denyse Waters of Waukegan; Nancy Koschalk of Park City, IL; Susan (Peter) Vanca of Zion, IL; Anthony Koschalk of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Amy Ziegelmeier of Kenosha; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hampton, and a brother, Richard Koschalk. A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held on Saturday, November 24th, at Proko Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
