Violet S. Grove

Violet S. “Vi” Grove, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Brookside Care Center. She was born on September 27, 1924, in Galena, SD, the daughter of the late Ivor and Elizabeth (Olund) Sigdestad. She was educated in Deadwood, SD, graduating from Lead High School on May 29, 1942. On November 15, 1951, she married Harold Grove in Lead, SD. In 1952, Vi and Harold moved to Kenosha. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1981. Vi was employed at Kresge and then with K-Mart, retiring after 30 years. She was an avid bingo player and served numerous positions with the Women of the Moose, which she was a lifetime member over 50 years. Vi is survived by her nephew, Dennis (Dorothy) Winsell; brother, Clifford Sigdestad; and two grand nephews, two great-grand nieces, and two great-grand nephews, all of South Dakota. She is further survived by her Wisconsin Grove family, Ronnie, Roberta, Reeva, Ruth and Becky and their families; and many other loving family and friends, especially her special friends MaryAnne Clark and Henry Djuth. She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. The Ladies of the Moose service will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, at Proko Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. with funeral service following. Interment will be private.
