James B. Streich
James Brian "Jim" Streich, 55, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 26, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 17, 1957, in Lake County, IL, he was the son of Walley and Lois (Nelson) Streich. He attended the schools of Lake County; graduating from Zion-Benton High School. He then went on to earn his Applied Science degree for Industrial Science from the College of Lake County; he later earned his B.A. in Management and Communications graduating Cum Laude from Concordia University of Wisconsin. Jim moved to Kenosha in the early 1980’s. On May 15, 1993 he married Sharon K. Nason in Branson, MO. He was employed as a lead mechanic for 34 years at Mazer Chemicals, PPG, BASF and most recently named Lambent Technologies. Jim loved building model rockets, traveling, treasure hunting, cooking and entering BBQ contests, which he would often win. He loved animals, the Packers, the Bulls and the White Sox. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of Kenosha; two daughters, Nicole (Cameron Richardson) Streit and Stephanie (Ken) Post, both of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Laurel Johnson, Zachary Brown, Audrianna Post and Remington Post all of Kenosha; his parents, Walley and Lois Streich of Zion, IL; and a brother, Jeff Streich of Zion, IL. Jim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernice and Alfred Nelson; his paternal grandparents, Lester and Evelyn Streich; his aunt, Mary Schmitt; and his sister-in-law, Carey Streich. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29th, at Proko Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
