Mary T. Sacco, 104, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Home and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, October 14, 2012. Born in Centerville, IA, on October 8, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Nicolazzi. She moved to Kenosha in 1924 with her family. On September 26, 1926, she married Siro P. Sacco. They had three children. He preceded her in death. Mary was a homemaker until she went to work at Rode’s Bakery and then went to work at Witts Bakery where she was a cake decorator for over thirty years. Mary was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and was strong in her faith. She belonged to a card club for many years. She enjoyed going to the Wednesday Senior Center at St. Mary’s Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting and sewing. She was an excellent cook. Mary and her husband traveled to Italy and France to visit many members of his family. She also spent winters in California and in her later years she went to Florida with her daughters Jean and Ann. She went there until she was 101. After she moved out of the home they built in the 1940’s she moved in with her daughter Ann for 18 years. Surviving are her two daughters, Jean Perozzo and Ann Stefancic; her granddaughter, Terry Sarckees; and her great-grandsons, Myles Orear and Michael Sarckees. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Nelle Nicolazzi. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe, Carlo, Frank, John and Pete; and her sisters, Angeline and Anna. Also preceding her were her son, Richard; great-grandson, Thomas Perozzo; and her son-in-laws, Milan Stefancic and Louis Perozzo. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Home, Dr. A.J. Capelli, Mark Peterson, Karen Metallo and Hospice Alliance for all of their compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 18th, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
