Josephine Mary Buttens, 98, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Carey Manor. Born on January 31, 1914, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. and Mary (Kavolcha) Voss. In 1943, she married Wesley John White. He preceded her in death in 1952. In 1965, she married John Buttens. He preceded her in death in 1975. She was employed at Rothchilds in Waukegan, IL. Josephine was very proud to be one of the first residents of Lakeside Towers in 1980. She relocated to Carey Manor in 2002. She is survived by her two sons, Gerald (Helga) White of Orlando, FL, and Dennis (Donna) White of Kenosha; six grandchildren, Danielle (Rob Alverson) White of Kenosha, Traci (Daniel) Lopes of Englewood, FL, Steven (Jennifer) White of Pace, FL, Kenneth (Christine DeMartini) White of Apopka, FL, and Norman Bradley (Linda) White of Coral Springs, FL; and four great-grandchildren. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Carey Manor for the wonderful care and compassion throughout the years for their mother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 8th, at St. James Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
