Ethel Maude Thompson, 93, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at her son’s home Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Born in Arthur, WI, on July 10, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Cynthia (Ballard) Jensen. She was educated in the schools of Stanley, moving to Kenosha in 1937 to make her home. For over 28 years she worked at American Motors/Chrysler Corp. until her retirement in 1960. Ethel was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church; prior to that she was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was very active in church and Bible Studies. She enjoyed children; Ethel was a super grandma. An avid Chicago Cubs Fan, she loved watching Jeopardy on TV, knitting and crocheting. She was very active, walking 3 miles every morning for a very long time with friends. Ethel was proud of the fact that she lived in her own home until 2010 at the age of 90. Surviving are her three children, Gale (Jean) Thompson of Kenosha, Janice (Ronald) Pickos of Winter Haven, FL, and Rodney (Sundra) Thompson of Sun Lake, AZ; eight grandchildren, Sarah Turek, Craig, Cory, Noelle, and Ron "Mick" Pickos, Jamie Thompson, Randall Thompson and Amber Belaire; four step grandchildren, Louie, Bill, and John Ricchio and Dina Daniel; 14 great-grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Dana Thompson; a grandchild, Kirk Holladay; and also ten brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Sunday, September 23rd, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 noon at Wesley United Methodist Church, 4600-60th Street, Kenosha, WI 53144. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
