Mike Richard Lester, age 58, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at St. Luke’s Medical Center surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure and renal failure. Mike was born in West Virginia on November 3, 1953, the son of the late Richard and Edith M. (Cooper) Lester. On June 2, 1979, he married Irma Espinosa in Chicago, IL, and was employed by Phillips Electronics Company for fifteen years. Mike and Irma moved to Kenosha in 1987 where he began his employment with Cherry Electronics in 1996 until he retired due to health problems. In his retirement he enjoyed fixing and restoring old antique radios and electronic devices, watching and rooting for the Chicago Bears, watching pro golf and football and reveling in the rivalry of the Bears and Packer games with his son Chris. He and Irma were members of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pleasant Prairie. Surviving Mike are his loving wife, Irma; his son, Chris of Kenosha, his beloved dog, Bentley; a sister, Cynthia Bailey of Mt. Prospect, IL; three brothers, Jeffrey (Mary) of Floyd, VA, Patrick of Los Angeles, CA, and Greg (Carol) Lamb of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Ricky; and his brother-in-law, Larry Bailey. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 6th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service. A private interment will be held at St. George Cemetery.
