Lyle M. Krahn, 82, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Bristol, WI, on January 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Pagel) Krahn. A resident of Bristol his entire life, he was educated in local schools. He was in the United States Army from May 7, 1951, until his honorable discharge on April 25, 1953. On February 11, 1956, he married Doris Golbricht. For over 38 years he worked at Nash/American Motors/Chrysler Corp. in Final Repair until his retirement in October of 1988. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed polka dancing, bowling, dart ball and spending time with his family. Surviving Lyle are his wife of 56 years, Doris; two children, Karen (Ted) Sakalowski of Bristol and Ken (Denise) Krahn of Paris, WI; two brothers, Roy Krahn and Richard Krahn; a sister, Alice Leonard; four grandchildren, Kelly (Cory) Clausing, Katie (Chad) Daniels, Jamie (Chris) Eibl, and Ryan Krahn; and three great-grandchildren, Kole and Kinzie Daniels and Ava Eibl. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Eugene and Leo Krahn; and a sister, Eunice Burmeister. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Brookside Care Center and Allay Home & Hospice, Inc. for all the kind and compassionate care given to Lyle. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors.
