Gilda Ruffolo

Gilda "G" Ruffolo, 87, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Marano Marchesato, Cosenza, Italy on April 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Rosaria (Ruffolo) DeBartolo. On November 13, 1949, she married Vincenzo "Vinnie" Ruffolo in Italy. Shortly after they were married they moved to Kenosha. Gilda worked at Moriarity Manufacturing and Le Blanc. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She loved cooking, baking wedding cookies, knitting, taking trips to casinos and playing with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Vince of Kenosha; three daughters, Concetta "Connie" (David) Anderson of Bristol, Clara (John) Micinski of Rockford, IL, and Lisa (Joseph) Cairo of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, David (Lisa) Anderson, Adam (Trish) Anderson, Marcus Anderson, Rachael Micinski, Natalie Micinski and Joseph V. Cairo; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Brody, with a third due in October; and a sister, Amalia Guido of Kenosha. Gilda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louis and Giuseppe DeBartolo; and two sisters, Carmela Ruffolo and Cesina Morrone. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice nurses, Debbie and Stephanie and to Gilda’s special friends, Elsie and Mary Ann for all their support and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1st, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
