Rosa Anderson, 82, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Kenosha Estates Living and Care Center. Born in Asherton, TX, on August 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Serapio and Siria (Pacheco) Garza, Sr. She was educated in the schools of Texas and moved to Kenosha in 1954. On October 22, 1960, she married Ronald N. “Andy” Anderson at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1999. Rosa was formerly employed with Vincent-McCall in Kenosha, OMC in Waukegan, and retired from the Kenosha Youth Foundation. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Ladies Society of Mt. Carmel. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and ran the Mexican food booth at the Mt. Carmel Festival for many years. Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Jurvis of Kenosha; her granddaughter, Brooke Jurvis of Kenosha; two brothers, John P. (Mary) Garza and Mel (Jessie) Garza, both of Kenosha; and five sisters, Paula Rodriguez, Juana Garza, and Susan Macareno, all of Kenosha, Belia Garza of California, and Olivia (Henry) Garcia of Waukesha. She was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Jerome Anderson on March 2, 1985; two brothers, Serapio Jr. and Alfredo; and two sisters, Cleo Llanas and Lola Flores. Rosa’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Kenosha Estates Living and Care Center and Hospice Advantage and Dr. B. Pulla for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave her. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 8th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919-54th Street, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
