Wayne A. Pagel, Sr., 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kenosha on November 29, 1939, he was the son of George and Martha (Gascoigne) Pagel. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. On November 22, 1958, he married the love of his life, Norma Schmidkonz at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paris, WI. The majority of his life he had been employed as a field service technician in the printing industry throughout the Midwest and especially the Milwaukee-Chicago area. Recently he was employed with Southport Transport until his illness. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, watching TV, playing pinochle, traveling, cooking, and baking pies. Surviving are his wife, Norma of Kenosha; two sons, Wayne (Kathy) Pagel Jr. of Kenosha and Bradley Pagel of Kenosha; a sister, Kandice Brill of Kenosha; four grandchildren; Jeminah (Daniel) VanHandel, Brenna Pagel, Sayre Pagel and Tyrone Pagel; and four great-grandchildren, Claire, Madeleine, Greta and Juliana VanHandel. He was preceded in death by his father, George Pagel; mother, Martha Barry; step father, Thomas Barry; brother, Robert Pagel; a sister, Margaret in infancy; step-brother, Tommy Barry; daughter-in-law Kimberly Pagel; and his beloved dog, Liebschen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1st, at Proko Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
