Harold A. Swiatko, 52, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012, after a courageous battle with Brain Cancer, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Kenosha on September 27, 1959, he was the son of the late Bruno H. and Georgia L. (Leach) Swiatko. Harold was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. On May 14, 1988, he married Gean M. Pflueger at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He had been employed by Wheaton Franciscan HealthCare as an Emergency Dept. Technician. Harold recently received Gateway Technical College’s first ever Honorary Nursing Degree. Harold was previously employed by Dallas Mavis/Great Wide Trucking as a logistics supervisor for several years, retiring in 2007. Harold spent many years as an EMT with Scout Leaders Rescue Squad. He also was a member of the National Chapter of HOG; he was active with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and St. Baldrick’s Foundation, he also was active as a parental school volunteer. Surviving Harold are his wife, Gean of Kenosha; two children, Kelsey Patricia of Janesville, WI, and Zachary George of Kenosha; a brother, Stephen (Cheryl) of Kenosha; two sisters, Peggy (Kerry) Ishmael and Patricia Swiatko, both of Kenosha; and also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Swiatko-Haley. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1st, at Proko Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
