Carolyn L. Newhouse

1943 ∼ 2012

Carolyn L. Newhouse, 68, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 9, 2012, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on November 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Orville E. and Margaret (Resch) Davey. Carolyn was educated in the schools of Kenosha graduating from Bradford High School. Upon graduating high school she went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nursing Licensure. She later went back to school and proudly earned her degree as a registered nurse from Gateway Technical College. On March 2, 1963, she married Richard M. Newhouse in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1986. Carolyn worked as a dedicated and caring nurse at various nursing homes throughout her 45 year career. She retired in 2008 from Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation where she attained the position of Director of Nursing. She had a special fondness and compassion for the geriatric patients she cared for. She enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling, and having special Survivor night dinners with her family. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved pet Ziggy. Her kind and gentle spirit will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory: her three sons, Edward (Victoria) Newhouse of Pleasant Hill, CA, Shawn (Lupe) Newhouse of Kenosha, and Robert (Terra) Newhouse; a daughter, Amy (Steven) Ledding of Kenosha; four brothers, James Davey of Kenosha, Gary Davey of Kenosha, Ronald (Chris) Davey of Indiana, and Brian Davey of Kenosha; three sisters, Sharon Capozza of Kenosha, Rosemary Mattner of Kenosha, and Anne (Larry) Dellisse of Kenosha; and six grandchildren, Nina Newhouse, Tyler Newhouse, Jacob Newhouse, Layne Ledding, Easton Ledding and Isla Ledding. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren in infancy, and her sister, Janet Morell. So sorry to learn of Carolyn's passing. She was such a good friend to everyone, and we had many good times. Lots of good memories... I even enjoyed having her for a boss for a while at the nursing home. She was such a gentle and loving person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. I will always remember the fun we had, and know she is with your dad in heaven. Heaven just gained another angel.Lots of Love, Cyndi

I was very sad to hear of Carol's passing. I will always remember her beautiful smile and gentle spirit. I have many fond memories of family gatherings I attended I remember teasing Carol and saying "It's the quiet ones like you we have to watch out for". She would just laugh and say "yeah right". We shared many laughs and happy times. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family that she loved so much. May memories that you shared help comfort you during this difficult time. I believe in Angels......

I worked under Carolyn in different areas the whole time she worked at Hospitality Nursing. She was always pleasant and nice to talk to. I enjoyed at times teasing her that maybe I should get that call as they had paged Carol not Carolyn and more than a few times she would say I sure wish you could. I missed her when she left. She was a very good person.
