John Labanow
John Labanow, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Kenosha on April 13, 1924, he was the son of the late James and Olga Labanow. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, educated in local schools. After high school he worked for Huber Glass in Kenosha until he entered the United States Army on March 19, 1946, serving during World War II, until his honorable discharge on April 30, 1947. On June 26, 1954, he married Betty Wyman in Kenosha. After the service he worked at Huber Glass Co. in Illinois, working in Chicago and the surrounding area. He was a member of Glaziers Local Union #27 Chicago and the general vicinity, Glaziers Architectural Metal & Glass Workers. John retired in 1986 after 32 years of service. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Betty; two sons, John J. (Stephanie) Labanow of Wentzville, WI, and Danny R. (Diane) Wyman of Eau Claire, WI; one grandchild, Tanya Wember; and a great-grandchild, Zachery Olsen. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Wember; a sister, Mary Kuzik; three brothers, Alex, Mike and Wally Labanow; and infant great-grandson, twin of Zachary, Nicholas Olsen. Funeral services in John’s name were private.
