Lucille V. Homan, 95, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Kenosha on June 27, 1916, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Helen (Brankow) Harper. A lifelong Kenosha resident, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School. On February 12, 1946, she married Harold Homan at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1994. Lucille was formerly employed as the head of Notions and Gifts with Barden’s Department Store for many years and also worked at McWhyte Wire Rope during World War II. She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, was an excellent baker, knitter and seamstress, and was also a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother. One of her proudest accomplishments was obtaining her driver’s license, which she (thankfully) didn’t use often. Survivors include three sons, James (Bob Plasse) of Westfield, MA, John (Nancy) of Brule, WI, and Jeff (Carol) of Kenosha; a brother, Harold Harper of Paris Township, WI; two sisters, Dorothy Harper and Nancy Harper, both of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Christian (Jenny Stix), Courtney (Luke) Landwehr, Aaron (Sandra), Hilary and Alicia; and one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Eve Landwehr. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Fredrick, Robert, Clarence, Ned, Donald and Dale; and a sister, Lorraine Mayes. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Lucille’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
