As we near the first anniversary of the death of Albert Pitts, I am moved to renew my sympathy to the family and friends he loved so perfectly. Al lives in me as he lives in so many others…as proof that during the brief time each of us inhabits this earth, there is both righteousness and joy in giving flight to “the better angels” of our nature. I for one can say, with unqualified certainty, that my world is a better one because Al Pitts once lived in it.This glorious “paisono” (as he called himself) possessed a genius for so much that is wondrous in human beings: for teaching and learning, for laughter and friendship, for heart-warming hospitality and gleaned-from-life story-telling, for social justice and tolerance. Al’s tent was huge. It embraced us all with his special genius for extraordinary human goodness. Dave RozelleGrateful to have been Al Pitts’ student, admirer and friend for nearly a half century

I watched you tenderly and lovingly take care of your yard, your tulips. I was your neighbor who appreciated what you did for your home and the care you have given your wife. It is with sincere sorrow that I heard you passed. I picked one f your tulips and placed it in a vaese. It opened this morning. The scent is one you marveled in. God has a decent man and he will look over you in heaven and your loved ones below still living their lives.....Sincerely, Jacqueline McNeiley

Our sorrow will one day succumb to radiant memories of this extraordinary man. He is dead. Yet, Albert Pitts will live forever through those who had the good fortune to know and love him "His life was gentle, and the elements so mix'd in him that Nature might stand up and say to the world, 'This was a man!' I say it now. With deepest sympathy to Evelyn and her family,Dave Rozelle (lifelong student, friend and admirer of Albert Pitts)

We consider it an honor and priviledge to have known Mr. Pitts. He was a great friend. On our last trip to Wisconsin, during Memorial week, we spent a wonderful evening with Mr. & Mrs. Pitts and were treated as family. Our prayers are with all of the Pitts family. Monnie and Bob, thanks for bringing them into our lives.
