Joan M. Lannoye, 91, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Racine, WI, on June 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Alpha (Link) Madsen. She was educated in the schools of Highwood, IL, and received her LPN certification at Kenosha Technical Institute. She moved to Kenosha in 1952 On September 17, 1938, she married Vernon K. Lannoye in Racine. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1997. Joan worked as an LPN for Kenosha Hospital, retiring after 22 years. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, crocheting, reading and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Her home was always the gathering place for her children’s friends because she was kind, generous and fun. She was very sociable and always appeared much younger than her years. She is survived by five sons, Gilbert of Kenosha, Daniel of Pleasant Prairie, James of Pleasant Prairie, Tim of Pleasant Prairie and Terry of Kenosha; two daughters, Cheri Lannoye and Lucinda Lannoye, both of Pleasant Prairie; a brother, Norman (Betty) Madsen of Somers; a grandson, Justin (Shereen) Lannoye of Chicago; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Joaquin. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Richard Lannoye of Racine; and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Norman) Miller of Sturtevant and Beverly (Peter) Mandli of Racine. She was preceded in death by a brother, Shubert Madsen; a grandson, Joseph Lannoye; a brother-in-law, Edmund Lannoye; and three sisters-in-law, Vivian Sanders, Marjorie Lannoye and Betty Lannoye. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 3rd, at the Proko Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
