Gary A. Wolters, 55, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center with his family at his side. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, on January 23, 1957, he was the son of Loren and Betty (Gilde) Wolters. He was educated in the schools of Grand Rapids, MI, and graduated from Creston High School. He lived in both Florida and Michigan before returning to Kenosha in 2000 to make his home. On August 8, 1990, he married Leigh Albrecht in Ann Arbor, MI. Gary worked for various companies as a Sales Engineer traveling extensively. He loved skiing, backpacking, scuba diving, golfing, watching sports, and vacations by the beach. He was very knowledgeable with technology and was a “Jack of all trades.” Gary was a loving father and a giving friend. His sense of humor always brought a smile to our faces. His son will carry on Gary’s love of technology and Rachel will never forget her “Poppy.” Surviving are his wife, Leigh of Pleasant Prairie; his parents, Loren and Betty Wolters of Grand Rapids, MI; two children, Ryan J. Wolters and Rachel L. Wolters, both of Pleasant Prairie; a brother, Lewis E. (Pat) Wolters of Michigan; a sister, Michelle (Dennis) Tietz of Michigan; and 13 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18th, at Proko Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used for his children’s educational expenses would be greatly appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Gary's Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Bob & I met Gary through my son Mario. Gary became a very close friend and a part of our family. Gary had an ability of making you feel you knew him forever. He spent a lot of time at our home for parties, for dinner,to help with something or simply to hang out. We will always remember his bright smile and take comfort in knowing he will live on in our great memories.

I met Gary through my father, Mario Mussatti. Although I did not know Gary as well, I wanted to express how much Gary touched my life and the lives of my family members. I would like to use the words of my father (in a speech he gave) as an insightful testament to their friendship and shared views...“Don’t give much thought to yesterday, don’t worry about tomorrow. Live in the moment, and trust that your existence has meaning…even when the world seems to be blind chance and chaos. You will succeed with your wit, humor, courage, loyalty, faith, compassion, and mercy.” I believe that these words from my father, perfectly capture Gary's loving, carefree nature. I also hope that these words will serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to the family members and loved ones who will miss him greatly.

Leigh my heart is saddened by the loss of Gary. I cannot imagine your grief at this time. I am so glad we were able to see Gary a few months ago. He was so upbeat, happy and talking about you and the kids. No one would have had any idea how bad things were. One of the best things I overheard at a funeral once was,"There is nothing I can say that will make you feel any better, but time will heal all things." God Bless you and the kids. BG

Condolences to Gary's family, especially his precious children, to Uncle Loren and Aunt Betty, Shellie and Louie. To lose someone so young always seems to be cruel. But the Power of God is so great and he only holds our life timeline. My greatest memory of Gary was his contagious laugh. He loved to laugh. He will be greatly missed.
