Susan Furloni

Susan Irene Furloni, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her daughter’s home with her loving family by her side. Born on August 13, 1921, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rosaria (Santapoalo) Salerno. On September 21, 1940, she married Dante P. Furloni at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2008. Susan retired from Frost Company. She was also previously employed by Quaker Stretcher and Vincent McCall. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards and knitting. Susan is survived by her daughter, Rose (Michael) Thome of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Michael Dante Thome, Melinda (Damon) Brown and Jeffrey Thome; three great-grandchildren, Torry, Dante and Nadia Brown; and a sister, Mary Ricker of Shelbina, MO. She was preceded in death by a brother, Peter in infancy, and three sisters, Elizabeth Messner, Amelia Mategrano and Kelly Landi. The family would like to thank Dr. Nandini Shah and Dr. Peter Mariani for their kind and considerate care they gave Susan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 30th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
